About me

I grew up in Chengdu, Sichuan, in southwestern China. I have always loved the laid back and embracing vibe of my hometown as well as its history spanning over 2000 years, and the spicy Sichuan cuisine still gives me nostalgia to this day.

In 2011, I left my hometown and went to Beijing for my undergraduate study. I received a bachelor’s degree in public finance at Renmin University of China in 2015. After that, I studied for another year towards a Master degree at Renmin University, and then came to the United States to pursue my PhD in 2016.

In Atlanta, I established my own family with another human and a fluffy Goldendoodle, later joined by our beloved cat, and since then I am no longer away from home. We moved to the NYC metro area in summer 2022 and have been enjoying life in the big city.

I appreciate many great things that life has to offer:

I love good music and movies. From your balcony is my favorite band. Her is one of my favorite movies.

I love traveling and exploring new cultures and food. Some of my favorite places I have been to are Dali in China’s Yunnan province, London, Bohol in Philippines (where I got my PADI Open Water Diver Certificate), Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, and Carmel-By-The-Sea and San Diego in California.

I enjoy cooking, which allows me to focus on the simple things and soothes my mind; my specialties are sweet and sour ribs and pulled pork BBQ.
